Starting a different game and then restarting Skyrim would probably work too. Just go over to options and choose “Restart the console.” That always fixes it for me. I occasionally have this problem if the game’s been running too long. cfg file to lower the FPS limit, but after that it should work seamlessly! How do I make Skyrim stop lagging on Xbox one? Change iVSyncPresentInterval=1 to iVSyncPresentInterval=0 (change the 1 to a 0)ĮDIT: Apparently this is known as a “micro-stutter bug” and has been a problem with the engine that Bethesda has been using for some time now. instead of doing it as in the normal skyrim, find the iVSyncPresentInterval=1 line, it was at the end of the section. Go to “C:\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition” and open the SkyrimPrefs. 
Disable Vsync- Disable vysnc to remove 60fps capping. Disable TAA – Turn off TAA settings in order to improve the image quality of the game. 
Update the video drivers – The most common thing you can start with, check that your gpu is running on the latest drivers.
